The Hall designed in the 1820's in neo-Gothic fashion, offers grandeur on a large scale, suitable for the most prominent of events such as award ceremonies and Gala dinners. It can accommodate up to 312 guests for a dinner and has a minimum number applicable of 150. We combine contemporary food and immaculate service regardless of the size of dinner. Hire of the Hall includes use of the Back Lawn for a drinks reception with one of the most photographed back drops in Cambridge. If the great British weather is not quite up to scratch, the Chetwynd room and Keynes lecture theatre are available for use instead!

Catering at King's College

King's has established a name for superb food and wine, and it has been the venue for many high-profile dinners.

King's Executive Chef Jason Waterfield spent his early career in prestigious venues in London, becoming Head Chef at the Westbury Hotel in Mayfair aged just 24.

Seven years ago he returned to East Anglia with a vision to replicate King's College's reputation for academic excellence within the Conference & Dining department.

At King's you can expect classical dishes with our own touches that give an extra tingle to your taste buds. You can also enjoy contemporary cuisine and innovative dishes as well as menus themed for the season and occasion.

One reason for the quality of our food is that we have a passion for fresh, local produce. Some produce comes from land owned by the College itself! Local produce means we can reduce our carbon footprint, and this, together with our support of Fairtrade, forms part of the ethical commitment of our service.

History of King's College

Henry VI laid the foundation stone in April 1441; it was to have a Provost and 70 poor scholars drawn exclusively from Eton College, the King's other foundation near Windsor.

From the first, the College buildings were intended to be a magnificent display of the power of the royal patronage and the King went to great lengths to ensure that the Chapel, particularly, would be without equal in size and beauty.

Why choose
Cambridge?
Our clients say...

"It is with genuine appreciation that we express our sincere congratulations to King’s College on its conference lunch and dinner facilities. We have had the pleasure of experiencing the inspiring historical milieu, the excellent food and the first class service offered by King’s College at both our 2010 and 2011 Gulf Research Meetings. The central location of this prestigious College, its diverse and flexible facilities and its ability to organize formal lunch and dinner functions for large groups of over 300 people all contributed significantly to making our meetings a huge success. We commend the highly professional and well-trained staff that catered to our meetings with elevated standards of service. We will continue to hold our meetings at King’s College in the future, as we are certain that we can always count on working with individuals that care as much about the success of our events as we do and pay careful attention to all the details so critical to ensuring successful events.
