History of Hughes Hall

Hughes Hall is the oldest of the graduate Colleges, having been founded in 1885 as a College for the training of women graduates who wished to become teachers. In the 1970s the College started to admit men and became fully diversified graduate College. The College currently has nearly 550 students of whom approximately one third are taking PhDs and one third are Masters' students. Students are accepted in practically all disciplines but there is an emphasis on professional subjects such as education, law, medicine and management. The College now also admits mature undergraduates.

Why choose
Cambridge?
Our clients say...

"Just a quick note to thank you and your colleagues for making our student/lecturers so welcome. I have spoken to my Head of Department who was extremely happy with the facilities and how things were “hassle-free”. If we are in need of a venue in Cambridge again we would most certainly wish to return. Thank you again."
