![]() Venues Built in 1833 in honour of former Prime Minister, William Pitt, and designed by architect Edward Blorethe architect responsible for remodelling Buckingham Palace for Queen Victoria, Cambridge’s Pitt Building is an inspiring location for private events. Unusual and gothic, the Oriel Room, arguably one of Cambridge’s finest venues, makes a sensational setting for a pre-dinner drinks reception or cocktail party. The Darwin and Newton Rooms are perfect for conferences or training courses with natural daylight and state-of-the-art facilities, and the Walpole Room is an excellent choice for board meetings. The building has hosted countless prestigious guests including John and Dan Snow and Bill Gates snr. The Pitt Building is available for hire all year round.
Queens’ College Founded in 1448, Queens College sits astride the River Cam, its twentieth century buildings connected to the fifteenth century site by the legendary Wooden Bridge, also termed the Mathematical Bridge. The College offers a unique and picturesque setting for corporate and private events. Old Hall, the original dining hall used by Fellows and students for over 500 years, is a magnificent venue with a richly decorated interior; above the Tudor fi replace are tiles attributed to William Morris and his associates. With its minstrels’ gallery, Old Hall provides an historical and atmospheric setting for luncheons and formal dinners for up to 114 guests or a drinks reception for 150. The Fitzpatrick Hall situated in Lyon Court, is an ideal venue for conferences, fully air-conditioned, equipped with the latest AV equipment and a raised stage, it provides an interactive setting for meetings and presentations for up to 240 delegates.
