Meet Cambridge Proves Popular

Event organisers from a wide range of sectors and educational establishments came along to Meet Cambridge, held at the Gillespie Centre, Clare College .

The event, the first of its kind organised by Conference Cambridge provided the opportunity to see 30 academic venues in one place, on one day.

There was also the chance to hear Cambridge-based classical guitarist Robert Petryszak and an exclusive comic performance ‘Don’t Be Needy be Succeedy’ by Fringe award-winning L Vaughan Spencer, the hilarious alter-ego of Neil Mullarkey, Alumnus of Robinson College, President of the Cambridge Footlights and founder member of the Comedy Store.

Venues offered a range of incentives such as money-off vouchers and free refreshments for events booked on the day.

Judith Sloane,  Assistant Manager of Conference Cambridge said: “We are
delighted with the excellent feedback we have received already from delegates and participating venues, with many reporting high levels of enquiries and bookings for showrounds.

“We organised this event as a result of comments from event organisers who don’t have the time to go round looking at individual venues before selecting one for their specific needs. Being able to offer 30 venues in just one space enabled visitors to get an overview of what is on offer, as well as taking a moment to enjoy the refreshments and entertainment provided.”
