Some of the most powerful and influential people in television and new media recently met at King’s. They gathered to attend the Royal Television Society’s biannual convention, which this year was entitled ‘TV Everywhere: Paths to Growth’.
The convention looked at how media companies could profit from the convergence of broadcast and broadband technologies.
There were over 250 delegates, including Jeremy Hunt MP (Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport), Mark Thompson (Director General, BBC), David Zaslav, (President & CEO of Discovery Communications), Linda Summers (Director of Product Marketing, Skype) and Matt Brittin (Managing Director of UK and Ireland Operations, Google).
The convention ran from 14 – 16 September. Formal meetings were held at the University’s West Road Concert Hall, but lunches, dinners and accommodation were provided by King’s. King’s has become a traditional venue for this convention.
