Emmanuel College was founded in 1584 by Sir Walter Mildmay, Chancellor of the Exchequer to Queen Elizabeth I. For more than 400 years it has been a centre of academic excellence within the University of Cambridge.
Emmanuel is a city centre college set in spacious gardens and an ideal setting for conferences, banquets, private dinners and other functions. The new theatre offers excellent lecture facilities while the refurbished kitchen and banqueting suite provides superb cuisine for the conference delegate.

 | Dining Hall | 150 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | The Hall is of course the quintessential venue for a dinner in College. Used on a daily basis in term time by the students, fellows and staff at the College, during the vacations it is available for external events. There is nothing that will impress business associates, especially those from oversees, more than a meal in the Hall, served with impeccable efficiency on oak benches which themselves are steeped in the history of the College. A string quartet playing for your guests from the Minstrels' Gallery will make any event unforgettable. | | Gardner Room | 45 | 80 | 50 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | The walls in this light and airy room are adorned with portraits painted in oil, and it can be used on its own for meetings, or as a breakout or dining room in conjunction with Upper Hall to which it is connected by a short passageway.
| | Harrods Room | 0 | 0 | 50 | 0 | 0 | 20 | 0 | The Harrods Room iis suitable for meetings, training sessions, receptions etc. Smaller rooms for office use or breakout sessions are also available within the Queen's Building. | | Old Library | 100 | 90 | 100 | 60 | 100 | 60 | 0 | The Old Library with its panelled walls and medieval timber screening makes a perfect backdrop to a gala dinner following a conference, a wedding breakfast or a decorated buffet. There is also space for wheelchairs at the rear of the auditorium. Writing tablets are available for those using the raked seating. | | The Museum | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 20 | 0 | This is probably one of the most unusual meeting rooms in any Cambridge College . It is housed in the oldest part of the College, Old Court completed in 1634, and in it is displayed a wide ranging and interesting array of historical artefacts and memorabilia connected to the history of the College.
It is ideal for a range of small corporate events such as a board meeting, an away day for a small project team, or an area sales meeting for a sales team.
Refreshments and buffet meals can be served. | | The Upper Hall | 100 | 80 | 100 | 60 | 100 | 60 | 80 | This is one of the most versatile rooms in the College, and is suitable for almost any event. It can be set out in any style for meetings of up to 100 delegates and it can be used for most dining purposes - from formal dinners to decorated buffets. It is also a great place to have an evening event with its corner bar and ample space for dancing and entertainment. The adjoining Gardner Room can be used as a quiet refuge by those who want to get away from main activities. | | The Fellows' Breakfast Room | 12 | 10 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 10 | 0 | Atmospheric and historic, the Fellows' Breakfast Room, originally where the fellows took breakfast, is now available for hire as part of the College's conference and dining facilities.
Overlooking Front Court and Wren's beautiful Chapel the room is perfect for an intimate lunch or dinner; or equally as a venue for a board meeting or other business occasion. It is also ideal, utilising the adjoining Sulk room, for small interviews.
Lined with oil paintings and handsomely decorated, the Fellows' Breakfast Room would be a splendid location for a special client dinner, a birthday or anniversary celebration with pre-dinner/lunch drinks served by a College butler.
