Corpus Christi is unique among Colleges in Oxford and Cambridge in having been formed in 1352, not by royalty or other distinguished persons, but by two Cambridge guilds.
Our rich history has left the College with a heritage of beautiful buildings, treasures and ancient traditions, which sit happily with a dynamic and modern community.
Old Court, a rare medieval architectural gem and the oldest surviving enclosed court in Cambridge, dates from the foundation of the College. The 19th century Neo-gothic New Court provides the four traditional essentials of a College: a Chapel, a Library, a Hall and a Lodge for the Master.
Another highlight of the College is the magnificent panelled Hall, which seats 160 in splendour and is the perfect venue for a formal dinner. There are several smaller elegant rooms available for meetings or the enjoyment of the renowned cuisine.
Leckhampton House, built in 1880, provides a stunning setting for meetings, dinners and garden parties. The delightful gardens provide College members and conference delegates with a tranquil environment in which to take a break as they stroll through the rose gardens and formal lawns.
In contrast, the McCrum lecture theatre provides seating for 150 and has all the conveniences expected of a purpose built conference venue.
