Gonville & Caius College

Gonville & Caius College

Gonville & Caius was founded in 1348 by Edmund Gonville, Rector of Terrington in Norfolk, and moved to its present site in 1353. Two hundred years later John Caius, a student at Gonville Hall, returned from his doctorate to find his old College in a dilapidated state. Caius set about renovating the Hall and in 1557 he obtained a new charter from Queen Mary and renamed the College Gonville & Caius.

The College buildings date from the 14th to 20th centuries and lie in the centre of
Cambridge. The rooms vary greatly in style, but all are comfortable. The College prides itself on offering an excellent cuisine varied to suit the demands of each conference, from snacks to banquets.  And we have a variety of rooms for gala dinners to make a memorable climax to your stay in Caius.

At our West Road site you can benefit from top quality en suite accommodation, the versatile and fully equipped Cavonius Centre for meetings and sessions and, of course, our excellent cuisine to sustain you.

*Superior en suite accommodation benefits from single, twin and double rooms, equipped with Freeview flat screen television and hospitality tray.
