![]() Salvation Army Celebrates at Homerton College7th Apr 2010 Over 150 members of the Salvation Army came together for a celebratory Ball at Homerton College to mark the start of the Army’s 125 year. Guests enjoyed canapés and drinks on arrival followed by a hot buffet and dancing until late. Organisers Nicola Norton and Chloe Mappledoram were particularly pleased that the team at Homerton College were able to offer advice and suggestions about how to make the event special and keep to a fixed budget. Nicola said, ‘Alex Cox has been fantastic with her support and advice regarding the 125 Dinner planning. She made the whole organisation of the event pain free for us. Many said how they were made to feel welcome as soon as they came through the door, as the Homerton staff were there to take coats and show them the way. All the staff were fantastic and very helpful. When Richard, Phil, Chloe and I walked into the Great Hall and saw the tables so beautifully set, we knew everything was going to be great.’ VIPs at the event included the Divisional Commander of the Anglia Division of the Salvation Army, David Jackson and Percy and Dorothy Reed who are lifelong members of the Salvation Army and previous Mayor and Mayoress of Cambridge. | |
