Culinary Competition Winners Announced...

Chefs and front of house staff who took part in the recent University of Cambridge Culinary Competition met at Cripps Court, Magdalene College for a special Award Ceremony. 

 

Winners were announced by Peter Griffiths MBE, Salon Director, Hotelympia.  The Culinary Competition celebrates the skills and creativity of the catering teams working at the University and the Colleges. 

 

This year 106 plates were presented to the judges for consideration, 72 chefs and front of house staff, representing 15 different institutions, took part.

1st Tim Bygrave – Queens’ College – Silver

Seared scallops with cauliflower puree, truffle oil & caper dressing / venison loin with parsnip puree, roasted garlic & beetroot with a cep jus.

Seared scallops with chorizo & butternut squash / slow cooked chicken with mushrooms, leeks & maderia
